So I really expected to start blogging more once I got MTNWA up and running, but obviously that hasn’t happened. My last post was about the six-month recap. I’ve already passed the year mark, and I’m still loving it.
All of my clients are great! I currently have two groups I regularly see and two individuals, which may not seem like a lot, but I’m happy to have some regularity in my schedule! I’ve had other individual clients over the past year, but due to scheduling conflicts and the clients having other therapies, they’ve been put on hold. This is probably the most difficult part of my job, but I completely understand.
I’m still teaching lessons on the side. Right now I think I have 13 students that I teach piano or guitar to, which I guess makes it my major source of income…ha! My students are a hoot though. I get to teach all different levels and different techniques, which ends up keeping me on my toes with my piano skills.
I’m really looking forward to all the possibilities for MTNWA. I’m still able to present to different groups about the benefits of music therapy. I’ve done a few mock sessions for one of the school districts in the area. I still have people interested in music therapy for their kids. It’s just taking things one day at a time, keeping my name out there, and hoping for the best! I’ve been really lucky and blessed to have people that help me with connections and getting word out there.
Whenever I see a good post about music therapy, I try to put it on my Facebook page or Pinterest. So if you’re looking for great info or ideas, check them out!
That’s about all I have for now! Hopefully the next post will be sooner than 9 months from now!
